We in the west need to recognise, that we have much to gain from collaborating with and aiding the poorer nations of Asia, Afria and South America.

We believe that the only way to create sustainable development is through local engagement and ownership. Lasting development cannot be imposed; it has to come from within.

The challenges facing the human family today cannot be solved with the us-them thinking of the past. The wealthy nations cannot build walls high enough to keep out the poor of the world, nor would that be a practical solution.
